Hello,

I am 21 year old female. I was looking over my test results from 7 months ago and I realized that my creatinine urine test was valued at 158.0 mg/dL. The way it is displayed on the test results page is on a range bar that indicates that this is a high number. My doctor never went over any of these results with me. Is this something I should be concerned about?
This likely represents that your urine was concentrated when collected (perhaps you were fasting or hadn't drank water). It is of no concern. We use the urinary creatinine level to calculate a a protein (or albumin) to creatinine ratio which is useful for assessing abnormal levels of protein in the urine. Perhaps that also appeared on your lab report.
