My son has been diagnosed with membranous nephropathy. He is seeing a specialist. Had to get off cyclosporine due to high potassium. He is 55 years old and was in perfect health before diagnosis. He did not have high blood pressure or high cholesterol and was slim. He alway ate healthy. I am so very concerned knowing this disease is rare.

Hard to comment about a case specifically without knowing more details. However, Rituximab is an excellent alternative to cyclosporine. I would ask his provider about it. The pivotal paper about this this drug in this disease is attached below:
