Inadequate immunosuppression and other triggers for rejection can lead to both antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) or cellular rejection. Statistically, acute cellular rejection is more common in all scenarios. However, the presence of donor specific antibodies (DSA) - more-so than simply high levels of panel reactive antibodies - is a risk factor for AMR.
