IgA Nephropathy Risk Calculator

About this Calculator

  • The CKD Risk Calculator estimates the risk of chronic kidney disease progression using clinical variables such as eGFR, MAP, and urine protein. This tool helps clinicians assess patient risk by incorporating demographic and clinical factors, with or without race, to predict the probability of kidney failure over a specified time period.

    Interpretation of Results

    • Risk Percentage: Represents the estimated probability of kidney failure within the specified time period (t years). Higher percentages indicate greater risk.

    • With Race vs. Without Race: The "With Race" formula includes race-specific coefficients (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, White, Other), while "Without Race" omits these for a generalized calculation. Choose based on clinical context.

    • Clinical Considerations: Use results to guide monitoring and intervention strategies. High-risk patients may require closer follow-up or aggressive management. Always interpret in the context of the patient’s overall clinical profile.

  • Formula

    Risk, % = [1 – S0(t) exp(x) ] × 100,
    where x = Σ[β × (transformed variables)]
    and S0(t) is as follows:

    With Race:
    S0(t) = 0.9964303 + 0.04392517 × [(t + 0.1)/100] 0.5 – 0.1257002 × [(t + 0.1)/100]

    Without Race:
    S0(t) = 1.0003754 – 0.1131641 × [(t + 0.1)/100] 2 + 0.0964763 × [(t + 0.1)/100] 2 × ln[(t + 0.1)/100]
