Hi, on routine urine tests, RBCs were found and doctors suggest it is microscopic hematuria.

My urine is foamy at times but on complete urine test, no proteins were found. My GFR is above 60.

I have no other symptoms or pain. Is it possible I’m suffering from CKD?

Hi Vijay, how are you getting on? I too am currently experiencing similar and beginning to worry myself.

I've had a recent history of around +1 non-visible blood in urine showing up at the doctors on those strip tests on and off for a few years now then disappearing sometimes on repeat tests, in addition a few times over the past 3-4 years I've had episodes of freq. urination that usually last a few weeks, and result in me going many times per day, but often smaller amounts, and some of those episodes have left me feeling like I still needed to go immediately after finishing.

I'm experiencing these symptoms again at the minute and also noticed on older blood test that my eGFR is not very high for my age (37) has been anyway between 68–89 over past 5 years - weirdly the past two results have been the best. I'm also noticing quite foamy bubbly urine today in the toilet, and the bubbles aren't immediately disappearing. I saw my GP yesterday who wasnt concerned, but that hasn't played my fears and am seeing a nephrologist privately later this week.

eGFR readings from last few blood tests:

2018
Creatinine 110
eGFR 70

2019
Creatinine 101
eGFR 77

2020
Creatinine 98
eGFR 80

2021
Creatinine 111
eGFR 68

2022
Creatinine n/a
eGFR 82

Jan 2023
Creatinine 94
eGFR 89
