Why is c4d staining in peritubular capillaries specific for AMR in an allograft biopsy unlike most other diseases in which glomerular staining is more important?
Hello,

Rejection often involves the renal tubules with either cellular tubulitis or else the features you are referring to with C4D deposition in peritubular capillaries. There is a form of rejection that does involve the glomerulus (transplant glomerulitis) but it often accompanies more classical tubulitis. Isolated glomerulitis is more rare.
