Hi.
I just got my latest urine 24h result, and I am looking for explanation what this means.

Hello,

This test indicates that you have a small elevation in the protein content of your urine. This could be due to a large number of conditions but statistically, in our society, the most likely contributors would be hypertension, diabetes or genetic kidney disease. In order to work in these conditions up further and establish a likely cause, you would need to follow-up with your healthcare provider.

Thanks for the answer.
I dont have diabetes or high blood preasure, nor someone in family had kidney problems.

Btw.i also posted before two results of 24h urine which were aroing 65mg, this last one jumps on 145mg.

Other checks on blood, gfr, creatinine were fine.

Anyway, I am going to repeat the test in 2 days because this one is really un the middle of micro proteinuria and no proteinuria.

Hope this is not serious.
This is a very minimal amount of proteinuria where is 65 or 145 mg. In fact, many labs will allow up to 200 mg of total protein in a 24 hour collection before flagging it as abnormal. Your particular lab used 140 mg which you just barely exceeded. So given the other parameters you have indicated above, if you do have kidney disease, on the basis of your protein levels alone, it would seem quite mild.

I can only base my opinion on the information provided and your health-care provider might arrive at different conclusions once you have provided an entire history and had a physical examination performed. As always, this forum provides general medical information only and is limited to educational use only. Please discuss the above remarks with your health-care provider.

Trust me or not, youre the only person i can talk with about my problem.
My nephro wo t explain thing to me, he did not even wanted to send me to 24h testing.
His dg says, come in march, and if you have 100mg/dl in spot urine we will do 24h test.
And he says proteinuria is above 1g.he make that funny face seeing i had 30mg/dl many times and once i had 100mg/dl.

Judging by these spot tests, my 24h tests are actually much lower.

Yes, I did found most often that around 150mg per day is very normal range for an adult person.

There is nothing else about my results that is bad...
I will repeat them again...
September 2018 tests...
Creatinine 80umol/L i calculated 110 clearance my nephro calculate 90 somehow, but anyway its perfectly ok result.
Proteinogram 50g/L albumim, 24 globulin
Two blood tests good
Few ultrasounds great

I really dont have any symptom to tell this hurts me or that hurts me.

I cant say i urinate frequently always, firstly since i know for myself i urinate more than other people do, i know to urinate 10 times per day in some days, in others 5 to 7 times.

Finally, only problem is annoying foam, in morning half of surface will stay foamy after minutes, in day it usually starts popping out and clearing imidiatelly after i pee, takes from seconds to few minutes to dissapear maybe just little stays.

I do realize that 150mg daily is okay, but than why all this freaking about it on google.
150mg daily would be around 7mg on spot tests, and it would say negative, and one will never know if he has 150mg, or even 300mg.

And my greatest question of all is, how long i will live, what this says about when my kidneys can stop working?
I know im not even close to be in nephrotic range, but i am anxiety person, and if i dont solve this soon i am scared i ll get other ilness, i was at neuropsychiatrist too, but all they do is talk to me like to crazy or like to baby.
Neither i am crazy nor baby, im just dealing with every day worry, and i woukd like to know where i am on this world.

Sorry for sharing all, but i felt like youre a person that will read and understand me.

Back to proteines...
I read even mild proteinuria is not treated which is 500mg, and than it comes to my head why doctor told me 1g.
It seems like under 1g. is not where they give it some attention, but than again if normal range is 80mg it should be 80 everywhere, if 150 it should be 150 everywhere, or if 1g is bad than dont put all patients to freak out cause of 150mg only.

Tbh, i am scared like i was never before.
And now, since i read thia result 144 im fainting in head coz of anxiety, i dont know how i will collect urine tomorrow for new test coz i cant even move from anxiety, but i got to.

Thank you in the name of all this people you answer and give your free time to us.
You have no idea what it means to us.
Hello,

I understand being afraid when you hear things like kidney failure. But you only have a very small increase in your urinary protein level, which by some standards is normal. And assuming all other parameters are normal, I would estimate your risk of serious kidney issues, now or in the future, to be very low indeed. I really would put this out of your mind.

Thanks again doctor.
I have juat repeated result.
It came out, 1500ml volume, 75,00mg proteins.
I think with this my doubts are solved, and this time i drink only water all day slowly about 1,5l, as much as volume of urine came to be.
Im of thinking the more urine stays in me, the more it spikes proteines, or maybe coffee has big connection with this, maybe in the way of raising blood preasure or similar.
Or, third, maybe i ate something day before collecting a bit raised one.

Anyway i think its solved.
Results were...
50,75mg
65,75mg
145,75mg
75,00mg

All results are since 14. December 2018 to 18 January 2019.

So gathering all and judging by myself i think there is no need for further following.
