If there is no protein that shows in urine, what is the substance (marker...chemical...ect) that causes foamy urine? I have never seen any other substance named besides protein.

Hello,

It's a good question. There are many minerals present in the urine that can crystallize or make the urine appear cloudy. I do wonder whether the sediment in the urine is causing some of the appearance that so many on this forum have asked about as a cause of urinary froth without abnormal protein quantity in the urine.
