Hi,

I'm on a diuretic so my urine specimen was super dilute. The microalbumin in the specimen is reported as < 1.2. Is this why a ratio wasn't calculated? Because it is too low (which would be good)?

UR CREATININE 12.9 mg/dL
mg/dL
No reference values apply. Interpret with other clinical data.
MALB/CRE UNABLE TO CALCULATE mg/Alb/g Cre
0.0 - 30.0 mg/Alb/g Cre
URINE MICROALBUMIN <1.2 mg/dL

Thanks!

Hello,

The urine ACR or albumin to creatinine ratio is often calculated as a way of eliminating the impact of urinary dilution or concentration on the assessment of protein excretion on a spot urine. When urinary albumin is undetectable, or presumed to be close to zero, the ratio is as well. This is a normal finding.
