Hi there! I've been searching the web for the answer of above stated question but I couldn't get any answer.
So here is some detail about me:
Non-functioning kidney: Left
Reason for failure: Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR)
Age at which it stopped working completely: 13 years
My current age: 16 years
My current weight: 60 kg
My current height: 5 ft. 8 in.
My gender: Male

Now I am going to elaborate my question. I workout at home with my dumbbells weighing 4 kgs but I read somewhere that persons with one functioning kidney only should not lift weights but I think 4 kgs are not very heavy to damage the kidney. Am I right?

My second question is that can I go to Martial Arts club for some martial arts training of course with some protective pads on, and also by telling the trainer about my problem? [PS. This is my dream to be a martial artist from a very long time!]

I hope I will get satisfying answer.

I do not foresee any problems with physical exercise based on having one kidney, even if you have mild renal dysfunction as a result. As an example, we do not restrict those who donate a kidney in any way with respect to physical activity. It would be reasonable to take some protective precautions to not physically injure the functional kidney when engaging in high impact activity. I am assuming your kidney function is relatively normal?

Yes my functional kidney is absolutely normal according to a number of ultrasounds and my doctors are also very much sure that my functional kidney is 100% working and is fine.
